Oliver Roger Barrett (1873-1950) was a lawyer, author, and collector of Chicago, Ill. The collection contains four letters, 1925-1929, to Oliver Roger Barrett. In one letter, author Julia Mood Peterkin of Fort Motte, S.C., recalled her mother's hatred of Abraham Lincoln. Another letter, from Raymond William Adams of Chapel Hill, N.C., concerns Henry David Thoreau and Barrett's collection of Thoreau materials.
